Margrain Vineyard is excited to bring you some special events for the Taste of Wairarapa weekend 15-17 November 2024.
A Family Affair - 6.30pm Friday 15 November at The Vineyard Café at Margrain Vineyard, $79pp
Taste Margrain’s current releases over a casual dinner with the Margrain family and staff.
Enjoy a relaxed shared dinner with the Margrains in The Cellar at The Vineyard Café, while winemaker Strat Canning takes you through some of Margrain’s recently released wines.
Includes family style dinner of breads, house-made dukkah and Lot Eight olive oil to start, followed by twice-cooked pork belly with Asian slaw, lamb koftas and falafels with spiced cous cous and a Greek salad, finishing with a warm chocolate brownie with whipped cream and berry coulis. Includes a 75mL taste each of Margrain En Rose Methode, Pinot Rose, Chenin Blanc, River’s Edge Pinot Noir, Home Block Pinot Noir. Cash bar also available.

Celebrating Chenin – 4.30pm Saturday 16 November at Margrain Vineyard’s Cellar Door, $30pp
Celebrate this little known and rarely grown variety with a guided tasting with Cellar Door Manager Kate Throp.
This is for the Chenin-lovers out there, or the Chenin-curious! Kate will take you through a guided tasting of three of our favourite vintages of the Margrain Chenin Blanc, plus the scarce Old Vine Chenin Blanc, and the ever-popular Cut Cane Chenin Blanc.
Includes five tastings of Chenin wines and shared bread, oil and dukkah platters.

The Vineyard and Winery Tour at Margrain Vineyard
Friday 15 November and Saturday 16 November, 11.30am to 1.00pm
Margrain Vineyard wants to share with you their love of Martinborough, winemaking and of course, their wine!
Visit some of the oldest vines in the region, explore the first winery in Martinborough (now converted to The Vineyard Cafe), see the winemaking process - all while tasting Margrain's fine wines.
We take you through the vine to wine process and the history of Martinborough winemaking, tasting as you go. Commencing at the Cellar Door/Cafe and taking you through the ‘Chifney’ and ‘Home Block’ vineyard blocks, visiting our boutique winery and finishing in the barrel rooms.
$35.00 per person
Tour and Platter Package - $52.00 per person - following your tour enjoy a vineyard platter at The Vineyard Cafe.
